I just bought the same laptop (with Intel graphics however) and installed ubuntu 10.10 beta. Minor update to your findings: + I had no blank screen problems + The touchpad was not recognized (I used your fix to enable it) + Intel video system worked out of the box + Audio output worked out of the box, but the microphone still does not work (I'm using 2.6.35-22, we'll see what happens with 2.6.36) Thanks again!
